Viktoriia Tabachna heads the business of manufacturing wire and metal products. Equipment under shelling was taken out of Kharkov in order to resume work in a new place. And thanks to participation in the Project Business Model Validation Program, Wings was able to expand the range of products.
In Kharkov, Victoria was engaged in business together with partners. But after a full-scale invasion, they went to serve. The woman hid in the basement of the school with her family for about a month. Then the military advised to leave faster. So Victoria ended up in Poltava region.
“Sometime in May they hired a driver and went for the equipment. The workshop is located on the outskirts of Kharkov in the direction of Chuguev. It was calm in the morning. And as we loaded the equipment, the shelling started. We were lucky to get out whole. When she set up a workshop here, she came to it and as if she was returning home,” recalls Viktoriia Tabachna.
Initially, the matter was based on the orders of Kharkiv residents. A lot of businesses have also relocated and are in need of an upgrade. The demand was for simple goods such as balls for decoration. But it allowed us to stay afloat. Over time, the woman registered as an entrepreneur and continued to develop the business. He has two partners who also moved from Kharkiv region. Established cooperation with Poltava blacksmiths. And participated in the project Wings (Women Involved: The Way to Growth and Economic Security):
“Thanks to the project, I recovered. There was a balance of mind and confidence that we needed to continue. After all, time goes by. We believe in victory and work.”
Victoria was also the winner of the Project Wings Business Model Validation Program for existing business owners and received financial support. She bought a machine for bending pipes with interchangeable shafts. Thanks to him, it has already been possible to successfully manufacture a hanging chair. And the “Metal Comfort of Life” team grinds metal with a new grinder.
“It is important whether the soul is related to the work you are doing. If so, the person will find the strength to restore it. And I was personally very helped by the support of my relatives,” concludes Viktoriia Tabachna.
Project Wings is being implemented by Pact Ukraine and NGO Light of Hope with the support of the Government of Canada.
