Despite the multi-level opposition to domestic and gender violence, this problem remains relevant. According to statistics, more than 2 million people in Ukraine face physical domestic violence. Terrifying statistics show that more than 80% of these cases are violence by men against women.
During the two days, representatives of the social sector and service providers of NGOs discussed a number of important topics, in particular, the basic concepts and gender stereotypes, the definition of the concept of gender-based and domestic violence, and their forms.
Participants also reviewed European and national legislation on preventing and countering gender-based violence and domestic violence. Considered the peculiarities of implementation of interdepartmental interaction and ensuring coordination of activities of various actors at the central, regional and local levels.
Particular attention was paid to the provision of assistance to those affected and confidentiality, as an important component of it.
